This spun cotton butterfly girl is ready for Valentine's Day - but is sweet enough to leave out all year long!
She's around 2.5 inches (6 cm) tall and is made from spun cotton, a tradition that began in 19th century Germany, where cotton is molded around wire into shapes which are then painted and decorated. She's painted to look slightly aged, with a vintage feel, and has pink cheeks. She's wearing German scrapbook paper butterfly wings that have been dusted with German glass glitter, for a little sparkle, and a bow made from silk sari scraps. She carries a red spun cotton heart and dangles from cream thread, ready for hanging.
